  • A simple explanation about what a B Corp is, is that Certified B Corporations do business in a particular way. Rather than operating to generate profit, they prioritise working for social and environmental good.

To become a B Corp, businesses are certified by the non-profit B Lab to voluntarily meet rigorous standards of social and environmental performance, accountability, and transparency. This includes the company’s impact on its employees, consumers, community, and environment.

We are proud to share that we are officially B Corp Certified!
    Our Impact Score is 111.
  • The Booty Buddy is the alternative for wet wipes. With 100% natural ingredients, this spray has been sustainably produced, making it fully biodegradable.

You can spray it on your toilet paper to create your own sustainable wet wipes.

The Booty Buddy comes in a 200ml bottle, an amount equivalent to 10 packs of wet wipes.

The ingredients are as follows: Aqua, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice Powder, Decyl Glucoside, Lauryl Glucoside, Fructose, Inulin, Polysine, Glycerin, Levulinic Acid, Sodium Levulinate, Parfum, Sodium Hydroxide
  • The ink we use can be called BIO or ECO ink. It is more environmentally friendly because it uses vegetable oil instead of synthetic oil. These are organic and therefore better for the environment.

    • The colour series meets the requirements for printed products of EU Eco-label, the Austrian eco-label, the Nordic Swan and the Blue Angle.

    • The colour series are certified for Cradle-to-Cradle.

    • Inks do not contain mineral oils.

    • Raw materials used for manufacturing of these products are mainly based on vegetable and renewable sources (e.g. rosin resin (modified), vegetable oils, alkyds, fatty acid esters).

    • The proportion of renewable raw materials ≥ 70 percent.

    • All raw materials used are non-food and do not compete with food supply chain.

    • The inks do not contain substances derived from genetically modified organisms (exception: soybean oil)

    • Products are free of VOC.

    • No substances from the candidate list of SVHCs are used intentionally for manufacturing these products.

    • All products are in accordance with the REACH Regulation.

    • The EuPIA exclusion policy for printing inks and related products is strictly observed.

    • Energy-efficient and resource-friendly production by using pigment pastes for most of the applications and leads to a significant reduction of energy-consuming drying and grinding process of pigments.

    • The inks meet the criteria of de-colouration according to test method INGEDE 11 and comply with the demands of the de-inkability scorecard of the European Recovered Paper Council.
  • The new bamboo rolls are produced in a European B CORP factory that is entirely ran on renewable energy. In particular hydro power, wind, biomass and more than 8000 solar panels on the premises.

We also avoid the use of bleach and other unnecessary aggressive chemicals. Instead, our products are based on unbleached fibres. In addition, we have replaced all plastic packaging with cardboard.

Where does the bamboo come from? Currently, dried bamboo pulp comes from Asia and is shipped in large quantities to Europe. There the pulp is processed into tissue paper and rolled into our double-thick rolls. From the fourth quarter of 2022 onwards all the bamboo will be sourced from our fair trade bamboo factory in Ghana.

Why is bamboo better for the environment? The CO2 emissions of the production of our toilet roll is 30% lower than for recycled toilet rolls and 65% lower than for normal tissue.

  • Jumbo can determine their own prices, including the price of our rolls. So it may be that our toilet paper is cheaper at Jumbo than on our webshop. Often large supermarket chains can also 'throw in' promotions and discounts. Wherever you buy our rolls, you support our mission, which is to build toilets where they are not readily available. So your purchase at the Jumbo helps us too.
  • Shit happens...💩

All of us undoubtedly remember the empty shelves in March 2020. Toilet paper, in particular, was stocked en masse, resulting in a sudden toilet crisis. Now, a new toilet crisis is lurking, and it's all about global scarcity, price increases and inflation.

Take a look at Volkskrant.nl for more information; https://www.volkskrant.nl/kijkverder/track-en-trace/v/een-wc-papiertje-of-kopje-koffie-is-door-prijsexplosie-grondstoffen-plots-veel-duurder/?referrer=https://www.google.com/

The price of basic commodities has already doubled since the beginning of this year and unfortunately the price has to be passed on, we want to continue as a company and we want to continue to release financial resources to build as many toilets possible in Africa, and thus improve the living conditions of many people. To realise our intended impact, it is therefore inevitable that every visit to the toilet will soon become slightly more expensive.

As customers and entrepreneurs, we have the power to change the world and to do the right thing. We are therefore extremely grateful for the impact we have been able to make thanks to you. We hope to keep seeing you as our loyal impact supporter/creator so we can continue to make even more impact, because only together can we make the world less shitty🌍💙

We hope that with this further explanation, you can agree with the implemented price correction. Of course, everyone is free to start a new subscription or to cancel their current subscription. For more information on our current rates, please visit our website. For further questions, please contact us at [email protected]

  • Whoops! Unfortunately, we cannot change your bank account number for you because it is linked to a direct debit. However, you can easily stop your subscription and create a new one with the correct bank account number!
  • Yes, The Good Roll is CO2 negative! It all starts with our cooperation with Budbee. Budbee ensures that The Good Roll can fully comply with its sustainable mission, also in the logistics process. At this moment, Budbee and The Good Roll already work together in Sweden, Denmark, Finland, the Netherlands, and soon in Belgium as well. Budbee The technology of Budbee makes it possible to follow an order of The Good Roll up to the minute, and the customer is informed about the delivery at all times. Because of this technology, over 97% of Budbee's packages are actually delivered on the first try, resulting in almost no unnecessary emissions from returns. Moreover, by using artificial intelligence to calculate the optimal route, the CO2 emissions are kept as low as possible. In more than 30 cities in the Netherlands, the company already delivers fossil-free. In all other areas in the Netherlands Budbee is CO2 neutral, thanks to the climate compensation projects in which the company invests. Budbee's goal is to deliver completely fossil free by the end of 2021 in all countries where the company is active. Besides that, we have a partnership with JustDiggit. Justdiggit believes in the power of nature and cooling the earth together by greening degraded land and bringing back vegetation. Their mission is to green Africa in the next 10 years, together with all 350 million farmers, and together with you. The Good Roll and JustDiggit are working together to make an even bigger impact on the African continent. With the support of The Good Roll, JustDiggit will be able to green 270,000 m2 of dry land and bring back 1,000 trees this year. In the long term, these trees and the green land will save 424 tonnes of CO2. This is equal to the CO2 emissions of the delivery vans and office building of The Good Roll in the Netherlands. We are proud to say that we are CO2 negative!

  • The Good Roll is made from 100% European recycled fibres. In the manufacturing process, the fibres are cleaned and freed from any ink with high water pressure. To achieve the high quality and cleanliness, two bleaching stages - an oxidative with hydrogen peroxide and a reductive with sodium salt - are used during the paper processing process. Halogens such as fluorine, chlorine, bromine, iodine, astatine are not used during production. We are also pleased to inform you that all the plants are certified according to the strict environmental requirements of ISO 14001 and are certified for their energy management according to ISO 50001.
  • The Council for the Protection of Natural Raw Materials (NRDC) indicates that products made from recycled paper have a lower impact than products made from bamboo. Bamboo toilet paper is an alternative to regular toilet paper from fresh wood chips.

Bamboo grows thirty times faster than the trees in the boreal forests, according to the Greenpeace report. In addition, paper towels made of bamboo provide thirty percent less greenhouse gas emissions than the same products made from wood chips.

Our recycled paper consists only of 100% European recycled raw materials and has the mega strict German eco label certificate: Der Blaeu Engel

At The Good Roll, we therefore offer both products that help with our mission: Safe and clean toilets for everyone
  • At The Good Roll we strive for a 100% sustainable use of raw materials and the waste process of these materials.

An important part of this is plastic. We believe that plastic is not necessarily bad, but the problems mainly have to do with the handling and processing of it.

Some of our products are delivered to our workshops and stored in plastic packaging. Because we repack the products in our boxes, we have a plastic waste stream. br />
This plastic is carefully separated by us and used for direct recycling. For example, new packaging is made from this. Because we as a company can properly supervise and control these flows, our customers do not have to do this themselves and their household can become plastic-free by using our products.

  • With this we build the largest alpaca farm in the world! No, just kidding. The harder our company grows, the more we can invest in the construction of toilets and the greater our impact becomes. That is why we also choose to reinvest the majority of the remaining 50% in The Good Roll. This allows us to grow even faster, expand our team and further increase our impact. With this we want to show that a profit-for-purpose business model can be successful and inspire others to also make social impact!
  • We are very transparent about this and this is confirmed yearly by our partners The Good Roll foundation & Simavi. All the reports will be published on our website.
  • We produce as local as possible to minimise the impact on the environment. That means: Our paper is made from 100% European collected recycled paper and is also packed in the Netherlands. We do this in a modern production location that produces in a sustainable manner, through the reuse of water and heat sources. In addition, we minimise unnecessary emissions through local production by reducing transport distances.
